Hi, my name is Jimmy. I am currently studying at college, majoring in health and fitness. After years of studying the field, I've come to the realization that there are so many misconceptions about fitness. At the beginning of my career as a fitness professional, I was told to lift heavy, eat every 2 to 3 hours, and only consume protein powder. However, after years of research and experience, I have realized that this is not the best way to change my appearance and improve my health.
I've come to realize that hard work is a part of any program. If a person works hard for a long period of time they will most likely see results - whether they are trying to lose weight or build muscle mass. In short, if you want to see results you have to put in the work. In my opinion, everyone has their own way of changing their body - it just depends on what works best for each individual.
With that being said, I think that bodybuilding is a lost cause for most people. There are only a few people out there who have the genetics required to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. So if you are someone who thinks they can lift their way to looking like the ex-California governor, it's time to be realistic. Body-building programs are completely ineffective because of the fact that they focus on building muscle mass rather than changing physical appearance.
I recognize that this is a controversial opinion, but I am sticking to it. I have come to realize that improving the way your body looks needs to be the main goal of any program. Unless you are extremely tall, the only way that you are going to change your appearance is by building muscle mass. I also don't recommend using protein powder during your weight-loss program. Protein shakes are an unnecessary addition to our diet because they make us feel full for longer periods of time, which keeps us from following a healthy eating plan.
